Mark Carlson, MD
Dr. Carlson is a fellowship-trained, board-certified geriatrician, internist and oncologist with almost 30 years of healthcare experience. He received his medical doctorate from Loma Linda University in California and completed his geriatric medicine fellowship at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu.
Prior to his move into geriatrics, Dr. Carlson spent nearly 20 years of practice in medical oncology, where serious illness had to be managed with the latest in medical technology, compassion and a trusting patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Carlson combined this experience with his strong desire to help seniors in the aging process to create Be Well MD, an in-home medical service designed specifically for older adults.
Be Well MD incorporates the highest quality medical care and also ensures patients have consistent, convenient access to the care they need and desire. Dr. Carlson’s personal mission is to help seniors live healthier and happier lives.
Jason Spees, APRN, FNP-C, L.Ac
As a certified family nurse practitioner, Jason’s clinical skills complement the Be Well MD mission. Jason is an alumnus from the University of Texas, where he is on faculty in the School of Nursing. Jason began his journey in medicine as an EMT in New Orleans. There he practiced as a paramedic and assisted with medical needs during hurricane Katrina. He became a registered nurse and was drawn to a holistic and person-centered intention in medicine. Jason pursued Chinese medicine and became a licensed acupuncturist. He is skilled in herbal therapy and acupuncture needling. Wanting more from the world of science, Jason attained a Master’s degree in nursing and became a nurse practitioner. His medical background includes family practice, emergency medicine, chronic pain and rehab, hospice and palliative care and skilled nursing. He enjoys a healthy lifestyle as well as dining out, art shows, live music, and volunteering. Jason strives to combine science and holism in caring for his patients at Be Well MD.
Loveleen Swami, APRN, AGACNP-BC
Loveleen joins Be Well MD with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, serving in a variety of clinical roles. After receiving her Post-Master of Science Nursing certificate from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Loveleen became board certified as an Adult-Gerotology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. With community health nursing as her passion, Loveleen enjoys collaborating with physicians, social workers, case managers, administrators, pharmacies and family members to provide exceptional care and comprehensive services to her patients. Loveleen lives in Round Rock with her husband and children. She enjoys long walks and dancing. She is committed to help her aging patients live an independent, productive, happy and healthy life.
Bryan Weil, RN, MSN
Bryan joins the Be Well MD team as the Director of Operations. He has been a registered nurse for more than 30 years, spending years in emergency medicine and holding leadership positions in hospital, home health and hospice settings. Mostly importantly, Bryan has built his career providing care to older adults. He received his nursing degree from Georgia College and his masters in nursing from the University of Phoenix. Bryan’s primary function with Be Well MD is managing the operational and clinical processes to create the highest level of clinical safety and efficiency for our patients and clinical partners.
Originating from Chicago, Illinois and living in 10 states growing up, Bryan now calls Austin home. He and his wife have two grown children; a daughter practicing as a registered nurse in North Carolina and a son currently stationed in Hawaii with the US Marines. Bryan became a first-time grandpa in May. Bryan and wife enjoy social time with friends and their three dogs.
Cyndi Foster, Medical Assistant
Cyndi has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings and in a wide range of specialties, including geriatrics, family medicine, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, podiatry and physical fitness and nutrition. She has always had a passion for caring for others, especially older adults. Cyndi is a trusted and reliable member of the clinical team, always ensuring the best experience possible for patients.
