The 7 Worst Habits for Your Brain
Every day I look for ways to support our patients with positive messages about the aging process. The mission of Be Well MD has always been to advocate for seniors as they age, with medical care that helps them stay independent for as long as safely possible. The media offers an abundance of tips for ways to look younger. My concern is less about turning back the clock for aesthetic reasons, and more about what we can do to keep our internal systems in good working order. I like to see stories that offer credible, medically-sound advice on topics such as heart health, superfoods, hydration, achieving good balance, etc. These are all helpful in keeping us alert, safe and active. This particular article focuses on the mind, on our brain and how to keep it healthy.
I hope you’ll pay particular attention to item #7 in this line-up. Medical research has revealed that a lack of purpose can affect the human body as much as a chronic disease like hypertension or diabetes. Find your ‘plan de vida’ like the centenarians from Costa Rica. Find your reason to get out of bed every day.
